Gwydir Complex Section 44 December 2009
Members returning to the helicopter after being flown to the top of a ridge and walking into bushland to extinguish a fire ignited by a lightning strike outside of containment lines.
A series of fires burning for a few weeks near Bingarra merged to form the Gwydir Complex, destroying large areas of bush and grazing land.
